Sourcing
For the past 40 years, we have established long-standing relationships with licensed loggers from forests in Pahang, Terengganu and Johor. This ensures a stable supply of high-quality trunks for our production use.
With our sawmill licence, we have the advantage of accessing a range of wood materials, including exclusive options like Bintangor wood, which are only available to sawmills like us. Our sourcing capability gives us the flexibility to tailor pallets to diverse customer requirements using a range of materials at a cost that is highly competitive. This gives us an advantage over other pallet producers who may need to purchase from us rather than getting it directly from the source.
Most importantly, we are committed to working only with licensed loggers to ensure responsible sourcing in the upstream supply chain while maintaining the highest standards in product quality. |

Design
Pallets play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity and ensuring smooth logistics. Recognising this, we focus on providing custom pallet design services instead of offering standard pallets. Our team works closely with customers to create custom-built pallets that are designed to meet the specific needs of our customers, taking into account factors such as product dimensions, weight, storage, and handling needs.
This allows us to better serve the unique requirements of each customer, ensuring that they receive a product that is perfectly suited to their needs. By focusing on custom pallet design, we aim to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of damage to products during transportation and storage.
To date, we have created over 3,000 pallet designs, which are tailored to fit the unique needs of our customers, whether it is for one-time use or heavy-duty applications. |

Sawmill
The trunks obtained from loggers are cut into smaller wooden pieces in our factory using our in-house sawmilling facilities before they are used in pallet production. This approach is not common in the pallet industry as sawmilling requires a licence and the majority of these licences are held by sawmillers. Typically, pallet manufacturers purchase pre-cut wood from sawmillers.
Kin Ho is the only pallet manufacturer that holds the sawmilling licences, Lesen Pemprosesan Papan and Lesen Kilang Kerja Kayu/ Perabot (C), enabling us to process both large and small trees. Our sawmilling operations have been established since 1982.
Due to a growing demand for wood in pallet production, we have continuously expanded our sawmilling operations to become the largest in the industry. |
Today, the company is equipped with a total of 12 sawmilling machines, which is significantly more numerous compared to the industry average of 3 to 4 machines. Among the 12 machines we own, 2 of them are fully automated, while the remaining 10 are semi-automated, a step towards realising Industry 4.0. |

Pallet Production
Once we have the right wooden slabs that meet the required specifications, they are then moved to production where the slabs undergo a series of processes to get them ready for assembly. The wooden planks are smoothened to remove scratches before undergoing a quality inspection to remove any defects that could affect the final quality of the product.
After the quality inspection, the next step involves cutting the wood into the specific sizes required for each pallet and then assembling them. This process is carefully carried out to ensure that each pallet produced meets the required standards and specifications.
The final product is a strong, durable and long-lasting pallet, ready for use in various industries. |

Treatment
For export or applications requiring sanitary conditions such as food industries, pallets produced at our factory are treated in compliance with ISPM-15 (International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) guidelines for regulating wood packaging material in international trade. |

Notably, we are among the few in Malaysia to be awarded the heat treatment licence for wood products. In addition to reducing our costs, conducting heat treatment in-house also allows us to offer this service to other companies in the industry, providing an additional source of revenue for us. |
